ChooChoo H3 gathered for a little quality time over a pint of BEER because the spawn of Ghost Rider was in town from Okinawa – welcome Wobble Bobble! Wobble Bobble and his progenitor were haring tonight for a quick dash downtown on a lovely Friday evening. This hash was also blessed with another hound the recent kennel additions hadn’t met, long-time C3H3 member Cooter Hog. Welcome back Cooter Hog!
The GM called forth the hares. Now, three things are guaranteed about Ghost Rider when he hares: good BEER, live trail, and all the marks known to man. The pack realized the apple hadn’t fallen far from the tree as Wobble Bobble laid out marks from around the world which had no relevance whatsoever and stretched the entire length of the 2-mile trail. After the hares tried to explain the marks and even forgot what a few meant (important later), the GM blessed the hares and off they ran for hash #69+17 – family style!
After taking the requisite five minutes to finish their BEER, the hounds cried ON ON and gave chase. Some flour here, an arrow there – you know, the basics. After half a mile, Cum Analyst came across an X, the universal mark for false trail. The pack scouted far and wide between the back check and the last known true trail, but nada. F’n B’s keen eyes then spotted a mark past the backcheck. As in, the X was just randomly there. WTF, Wobble Bobble?
Trail soon led to the IBMA World of Bluegrass festival. When it comes to bluegrass, the best seats are the cheap seats. The hares greeted the hounds at Jack Brown’s, a sneaky spot right outside the gates where the music was loud and clear and they didn’t price-gouge the BEER. They pointed and laughed as they spotted Hardly Cumming and Just Leah, who had paid for the privilege of skipping the hash and slightly closer seats.
Once all the hounds were settled in with their BEER, the father-son duo hopped off. Cooter Hog and his Crocs decided to get a head start on the second half of the trail because running in Crocs sucks. The rest of the pack caught him a block later. The hounds once again came across an X, and they cried ON ON because it probably was as random as the first one. Which it was.
After a few more twists and turns, they found a 369 check. Bone Star noted that one direction led to a rooftop bar. Yes! What else could it be but true trail? Haha j/k, the marks led right up to the doors before it ended in a back check. The hounds bitched and turned around with the BEER equivalent of blue balls.
The hounds stumbled into DOWN DOWN just as night was falling, and the circle gathered for hare charges. The hounds had one question for Wobble Bobble – what the hell was the X for? Does X mean something else in Japanese? Is it some foreign invasive species of mark? Nope, it meant nothing, apparently. Well, apparently that meant he had to drink for his fuckup. Ghost Rider had to drink it down down down with him, because it’s his job to teach his kid how to read.
When it came time for trail charges, the circle devolved into petty charges for the sake of charging and because the trail was too short to do anything stupid enough for an actual charge. All the hounds took turns drinking it down down down as Ghost Rider and Cooter Hog broke out some old-school hash songs. As always, Timothy Leery was incredibly unremarkable, mostly because he wasn’t at the hash.
Was there BUSINESS? Nope. Was there an ON AFTER? Are you mental? The GM wrapped up the circle and told the hash to go in peace to get a piece, and they headed to the nearest cheap Mexican restaurant.
